INTO THE UNKNOWN

2024

The series Into the Unknown presents a visual narrative on the dynamics of movement, specifically the state of constant flux. This body of work articulates the transition from defined, known territory into the sphere of the unknown, with the human hand serving as the central motif. The hand's gesture, reminiscent of a waving motion, evokes a sense of fluidity and adaptability.

The first piece, of a more intimate format, depicts a hand in the context of a partially defined background, indicating the transitional nature of this state. The hand appears as an entity simultaneously entering and exiting a given space.

The second canvas, of a larger scale, presents a hand emerging into an immaculate, white background. This image expands and opens up, with the motion moving towards a vertical ascent.

The third work, a detailed close-up of a thumb, serves as a reminder of the necessary—and seemingly uncomfortable—stagnation within the process of movement. For after a leap into a new life stage or a fundamental jump into the unknown, a period of gradual learning, continuous exploration, and thorough examination of the new territory inevitably follows.
